Official HD Promo Video for Gorillaz' fantastic new single 'Stylo', taken from the new album 'Plastic Beach'.

Great news from the Gorillaz crew this morning. They confirmed a third studio album with newly designed cartoon characters by Jamie Hewlett. Hurray!!

UPDATE : Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett stated in an interview with CBC News on 17 September 2008 that they will be doing another Gorillaz album. Hewlett also expressed annoyance at having to draw the band members again, "I'm so fucking bored of drawing those characters. But then we had a moment where we had a new angle on it... I'm gonna adapt them. Hewlett says that from their work on Monkey, "we just learned more about what we do, musically and artistically. That's a great place to come at when we come to another Gorillaz album. It doesn't have to be animation and music." An article by the Toronto Star stated that the duo hope to begin work on the album in January 2009. Albarn also said that he wants "to work with an incredibly eclectic, surprising cast of people."

Monkey: Journey to the West is a forthcoming stage adaptation of the Chinese legend Journey to the West, by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the co-creators of virtual band Gorillaz, and Chen Shi-zheng. It is due to receive its world premiere at the 2007 Manchester International Festival, on June 28, 2007 at the Palace Theatre, Manchester; it is the Festival's opening show.

The show is billed as a "circus opera", and is Hewlett and Albarn's first major collaboration since Gorillaz. Albarn is composing the musical score while Hewlett is designing the visual concept, set and costumes. The show will feature 45 Chinese acrobats, Shaolin monks and Chinese vocalists.

Who's coming with me???? Let's hope they are coming in north America!

You lucky British people...
